ATC Joy

Hi everyone!  I'm sure at least some of you are in full holiday mode.  I know I am.  Busy, busy, busy, but I'm still making time for crafting.  I'm trying a new format, so please feel free to comment and let me know what you think!

I'm entering my ATC into the following challenge:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

So this is from a long forgotten project of mine.  I attached a couple different pieces of old Amy Tangerine patterned paper to cardstock, then played around a bit.  I discovered it recently and cut the 12x12 paper into a bunch of ATCs.  For this one I added some stamping and paint through a stencil in the background.  My stamping was done with Ranger Archival Ink and green dye ink.  I mixed mint and Titanium White and put it through a stencil.  I colored a wreath from Oddball Art with my Tombow and Artist's Loft markers and cut the frame with some patterned paper and a wonky frame die.  The letters are from my stash.

I hope you like the ATC!  Let me know what you think in the comments and have a great day!

A discovery

Ever been playing around with something and weren't quite done with it as is?  You plan what you can do with a and then it sits?

That happened to me.

I rediscovered some patterned paper that I played with and then didn't used for some reason.  I'll explain tomorrow, but there are some peeks at what I did.  Enjoy!

Holiday Tag

Good evening friends!  when it comes to die-cut dies, I feel like I do not have enough.  At least not enough of a variety.  There's cetain types som people may love.  Some people love alphabet dies, some may like occasion dies (like birthday, wedding, new baby).  I have some nice ones for sure, but I need a few more to fit other occasions or that can be used for different things.  Like a tree die, or a cat cit.  Can be applied to several different ideas, right?

So I'm still working on getting a few more holiday projects with my supplies.  And a new challenge that asked to use a die.  So I made it work.

I'm also entering my tag into the following challenge:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

My tag started out with a bunch of paint, stenciling, and stamps over it already.  So I added part of a Dylusions girl colored with Christmas colors, a cork star from my stash, and I used a long star banner die-cut that I used with an older gelli print as well another gelli print I used with an alphabet die.  Kaisercraft has lots of offerings.  One option is this sentiment die "so happy."  I also used a die similar to this Tim Holtz alphabet die set to cut out my letters for SMILE.  And I added a bunch of baker's twine matching the colors in the tag.

Please let me know what you think in the comments!  Thank you for stopping by!

Art Journal - It's So Me

Hello friends!  Is the weekend really over?  Yikes!

I have a great project to share today to enter into a challenge.

I'm also entering my tag into the following challenge:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

I had leftover from an experiment where I mixed Liquitex Gesso, Liquitex Bright Aqua Green, and Ranger Gel Medium and pushed the mixture through my Dylusions Trees stencil. I need to get some sleep, so I will update tomorrow, but please enjoy!

And if there's something you want to see me try or do, please leave me a note in the comments!

Underpaper peek

I wanted to give everyone a peek at my underpaper, at least a previous sheet of my underpaper.  As you can see, it can carry a lot of different marks, from paint, sprays, stamps, and pens or markers.

As you can also see, I had my palette knife nearby.  I use my palette knife for several things, including spreading gesso, mixing paint colors and/or mediums together, and swiping paint or mediums through stencils.  My current underpaper looks different and that's what make it so unique.  Also, you can see a tool I used quite frequently.  For those of you not familiar with it, it's called a palette knife.  There's several different shapes, and designs.  I have at least three, and they're all plastic.  One issue I run into, which isn't really an issue, if the buildup.  As you use them they hold onto remnants of whatever mediums you use them with, meaning paint, gel, texture paste, etc.  I really love the color combinations that build up on the palette knives, so I don't want to use the knife for the project I'm currently working on.  I try to keep a camera ready to take pictures to remember the colors so I can use it to see another combination after more crafting.

I wanted to give a small list of items you can look for, including palette knife sets.

Stainless Steel 5-Piece Palette Knife Set

Arrtx Stainless Steel 5-Piece Palette Knife Set

Plastic 5- Piece Palette Knife Set

I hope you enjoyed this little peek and that you can find a palette knife set which you can use to kelp you decide which et to get for yourself.  Enjoy your crafting!
